Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar through his pop-folk songs based on folk, with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell in New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have been a major influence on many to move to the state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado as John Denver." Denver became the initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for many people all over the world. When I travel, I always come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, one from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short time in folk-based bands included Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version he knew right away it was destined to be the next hit single. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd at Washington D.C.
